Ian Wright has said on The Kelly and Wrighty Show that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is not focused at the moment.

The Arsenal legend believes that Antonio Conte could be the manager to get the best out of Kane.

Wright has added that Nuno did not know how to manager Kane when he was in charge of Spurs.

That’s because, according to the former Arsenal striker, the Portuguese coach expected the 28-year-old to leave for Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

Nuno was sacked as the Tottenham manager earlier this week.

Former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss Conte was appointed as the Spurs boss soon after.

Wright said: “It was almost like Nuno was expecting Harry Kane to be gone, he kind of didn’t know what to do, how to manage him.”

The Arsenal legend added: “You watch how he is walking around the pitch, how he is playing on the pitch, his mind is not there, so this is the kind of manager that will focus his mind.”

Harry Kane needs to step up

Kane has been disappointing for Spurs so far this season, especially in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old has scored one goal and provided one assist in eight Premier League starts so far this campaign.

The England international has scored once in the Carabao Cup and thrice in the Europa Conference League.

Conte worked wonders with Diego Costa at Chelsea and Romelu Lukaku at Inter.

In our view, the Italian tactician could take Kane back to his best.
