Hundreds of TikTok users have been taking to Twitter today to report that their For You Page is ‘broken’.

The glitch appears to be affecting users worldwide and means that strange videos are appearing on their feed.

Let’s explore the problem and find out if there’s a way to fix it…

TikTok users report their FYP is ‘broken’

From Friday afternoon (November 5th), Twitter became flooded with reports that the TikTok For You Page was glitching.

Users are reporting that there is a problem with the algorithm on their For You Page.

Rather than showing videos from all types of creators, users are claiming the FYP is only showing videos from verified accounts and people they follow.

Some people are also reporting that their For You Page is resetting itself every time they try and scroll through it.

One person wrote: “My TikTok FYP is weird today it’s mostly showing people I follow and celebrities ????? it’s weird I don’t like it.”

“My TikTok FYP is so broken its literally just verified creators it’s disgusting,” said another.

A third person added: “Is it me or is anyone else’s TikTok FYP page just blue checks and the people you follow?”

What is going on?

Unfortunately, at the time of writing this, TikTok has not addressed the glitch.

Many people are tweeting TikTok Support and TikTok Help to try and get some answers, but they haven’t had a response.

If the glitch persists, TikTok will likely address and fix it when it becomes aware.

However, there are some things you can do in the meantime to try and get your FYP working again…

How to fix your TikTok FYP

  • Close the app and open it again.

First, try completely shutting down your app. On an iPhone, do this by swiping up on your homepage.

  • Log out of the app.

Some users have reported that logging out of the app and then logging back in again has fixed their TikTok.

  • Turn your phone off.

It’s the oldest trick in the book, and sometimes all you’ve got to do is turn your phone off and on again.

  • Delete your app.

You could also try deleting your app and then re-downloading it again from the App Store.

  • Clear your cache.

Removing all the data that is stored in your TikTok app could just fix it. Do this by heading to Profile > Settings > Clear Cache.

If none of these things work, close the app and wait a few hours before trying to use it again. By then, the glitch should have been fixed.
