Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has claimed that Patrick Vieira could be in line to take over at either Arsenal or Manchester City one day.

Vieira is doing a fine job at Crystal Palace. The Eagles are soaring right now. They’ve just beaten Manchester City 2-0 and if it weren’t for a couple of unlucky late equalisers, the London club would be in the top-half.

Seaman has certainly been impressed by what he’s seen from his own teammate, and he reckons Arsenal and Man City could have a look at him in a few years’ time.

What’s been said?

Seaman was discussing Palace’s recent good form under Vieira.

“If he keeps this up and Pep leaves when he says he will, do you think he could be in line (for the Manchester City job),” Seaman’s co-host asked.

“Yeah I think that could be a plan. Would Arsenal be looking at that situation as well? Patrick is proving that he knows what he’s doing. He doesn’t get too irate. He’s disappointed with those last-minute equalisers but you’ve definitely seen an improvement in Palace and it’s not like a load of players who have gone in there, he’s made the players that are already there so much better, and that’s a good sign,” Seaman said.

Inevitable

Surely Vieira is in line for one of these jobs one day.

Vieira is highly rated by the board at City. After all, he was placed in charge of NYCFC, which is the Manchester outfit’s sister club.

Meanwhile, his links to Arsenal are obvious, and if he can continue to prove his tactical acumen at Palace, then a move to the Emirates would make a lot of sense.

The 45-year-old is still only a very young manager and he could have a very exciting career ahead of him in coaching.
