Four Championship clubs are queuing up to sign Jack Clarke on loan from Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window, as reported by TEAMtalk.
You have to feel for young Clarke.
Just four months after swapping Leeds United for Tottenham in a deal worth £9 million, Mauricio Pochettino rode off into the sunset, taking Spurs’ expansive football with him.
And, to make matters worse, in Poch’s place came Jose Mourinho; a man as famed for blooding young talent as Michael Bay is for producing heart-felt, hard-hitting dramas.
Clarke has made just four first-team appearances in Tottenham colours – none in the Premier League – with another short-term loan awaiting the York-born 20-year-old who underwhelmed during spells at Queens Park Rangers and Stoke City.

According to TEAMtalk, Barnsley, Millwall, Luton Town and Derby County are all interested.
And while a bottom-of-the-table, crisis-hit club in the heat of a relegation battle may not seem like the ideal destination for a youngster in desperate need of a morale-boosting run, Tottenham could do a lot worse than sending Clarke to Pride Park.
Wayne Rooney has done an admirable job in almost impossible circumstances, with a number of exciting academy graduates shining like a ray of sunlight through the dark clouds hanging over the East Midlands side.
And it shouldn’t be forgotten that, just two years ago, Clarke was one of the most coveted teenagers in English football, playing his way on to the radars of Liverpool and Manchester City after exploding on to the scene at Elland Road.
“He’s a massive talent,” Kalvin Phillips said at the time of a winger who captured the imagination with his fearless displays.
“He’s been training with us since the start of the season and we’ve always known he’s the type of player who can take people on and get people excited.”
