Narcos and its sister show Narcos: Mexico have made for essential viewing since they first arrived on our screens.
In 2021, Narcos: Mexico returns to Netflix for its long-awaited third season, finally picking up the story following the dramatic conclusion to season 2.
But just when is the release time of Narcos: Mexico season 3 and what can fans expect from the new batch of episodes?
Narcos: Mexico season 2 recap
Season 2 of Narcos: Mexico exploded onto Netflix back in February 2020.
The tense season proved to be climactic for Diego Luna’s Felix Gallardo as the net finally closed in around him as he looked to expand his drug empire beyond Mexico’s borders.
In the latter stages of the season, Felix pitched the idea of setting up shop in the United States but the ambitious plan backfired as the plaza bosses withdrew from Felix’s empire and formed their own cartels.
The final moments of episode 10 saw Felix get arrested and come face to face with Breslin in jail where Felix explained that the collapse of his drug empire would only lead to more chaos.
Narcos: Mexico season 3 release time
Season 3 of Narcos: Mexico will be released on Friday, November 5th at midnight Pacific Time in the US.
Like all Netflix’s releases, the new season will be released at the same time around the world.
This translates to 3am ET in the US, 7am here in the UK, 12:30pm in India and 6pm in Sydney, Australia.
Season 3 of Narcos: Mexico picks up the story following Felix’s arrest as the newly independent cartels begin to struggle among political upheaval and escalating violence.
With no central figure to lead them, the splintering cartels find themselves being led by a new generation of kingpins but the rivalry between the rising drug lords threatens to result in all-out war.
How many episodes in season 3
Season 3 of Narcos: Mexico will consist of 10 episodes in total.
The episode count should come as little surprise to seasoned fans of the Narcos franchise as every season of Narcos: Mexico and the original Narcos series all featured 10 episodes.
In season 2, the 10 episodes had an average runtime of 57 minutes each and we expect that to be the case in season 3 as well, meaning fans are in for just under 10 hours of watch time.
Sadly, however, once fans have binged through all 10 of the new episodes, there will be no more Narcos: Mexico as season 3 has been confirmed as the final instalment.
Narcos: Mexico season 3 arrives on Netflix on November 5th, 2021.
