Plot and teaser of BTS ‘7 Fates: Chakho’ explored
BTS’ ‘7 Fates: Chakho’ has been created by fusing the traditional Korean tales with HYBE’s own imagination.
Speaking of the storyline, HYBE’s General Manager Shawn Hwangbo said, “7 Fates: CHAKHO” was is an urban fantasy genre story set in a city of the near future. It was inspired by the “Chakhogapsa,” the Beom (tiger) hunters of the Joseon Dynasty.”
He added, “It is a story re-created by reinterpreting the stories of bears and Beom in mythology and the traditional Korean Beom tales with HYBE’s own imagination.”
He further says that the ‘Dynamic story’ will reveal how the seven men were bound by their own fate and what destiny has in store for them.
In the teaser, BTS leader RM says, ‘Beom (tiger) hunters to discover their tragic fate and to take revenge for losing their loved ones.”
Jungkook introduces his character saying, ‘this character is put in an awkward situation where he has to catch Beom using the ability of a Beom but at the same time, he’s not to be recognized as a Beom.’
Hoseok elaborates on how the character has to be cutthroat to survive the den of Beom. Jimin adds that the story will have elements of Korean tales of goblins and ‘Bulgasari’ (Korean interpretation of a monster that can only be killed by fire).
V explains that ‘Chakho’ is a modern take on Korean ‘Chakhogapsa,’ the army who used to catch tigers and bears in mythological tales.
