Javier Zanetti has posted on Instagram ‘let’s go Antonio’ after Conte was appointed Tottenham boss on Tuesday.

The ex-Inter boss sent a message to Spurs supporters when he was handed the keys to Hotspur Way yesterday, and he made his feelings clear that he ‘can’t wait’ to showcase his ‘passion, mentality and determination’ into this team.

The Nuno Espirito Santo reign in North London will go down in the Spurs history books as one of the worst ever.

In truth, he shouldn’t have been appointed their manager in the first place, it should have been Conte.

But, for whatever reason, it didn’t happen and the North London club went through the troubles of these past few months.

From questions over the style of play, the Harry Kane saga and the lack of passion from Nuno whenever he presented himself, it just didn’t help anyone’s cause.

The Spurs fans made their feelings clear in a ruthless fashion when they booed the team for the majority of the second half on Saturday.

It’s not a case of losing to Manchester United, which was the problem, but the manner in which it was happening and against a team that was thumped 5-0 the week before.

Then there was the substitution of Lucas Moura, which the home support ruthlessly booed, at the end of the day, Nuno wasn’t going to last given everything that happened.

But now, Conte is tasked with just instilling some life back into this Spurs side because they have clearly lost their identity.
