Conte takes the reins
The Telegraph share how Conte stayed at Tottenham’s training ground yesterday, prior to his announcement today.
Hotspur Way possesses some of the finest training facilities in English football, so Conte hardly roughed it for the night.
Jose Mourinho actually did exactly the same when he was placed in charge by Spurs.
But Tottenham fans still enjoyed hearing that their manager was prepared to stay at the training ground so early on in his stay.
Excitement at Spurs
There is finally some widespread excitement around Tottenham after Conte’s arrival.
When Nuno joined in the summer, there were immediately doubts over his credentials for the role.
However, by putting Conte in charge, Spurs have one of the highest profile managers in world football at the helm.
The time for excuses has now gone for Spurs’s squad, who will be expected to improve markedly on their performances in the early part of the season.
Tottenham have scored just nine goals in their first 10 games this season, with their style of play failing to entertain or impress.
Conte will take charge of Spurs for the first time on Thursday evening, when they take on Vitesse in the UEFA Conference League.
