Sergio Conceicao fancies a move to England amid links to Tottenham Hotspur – but it looks like he may miss out to Antonio Conte.

That’s according to The Telegraph, who claim that the Porto boss is interested in heading to the Premier League in the near future.

The Daily Mail reported on Sunday that Tottenham like Conceicao and could move for him to replace Nuno Espirito Santo.

Tottenham have now sacked Nuno after just a matter of months in the job.

Conceicao has actually replaced Nuno once already, taking over from him at Porto in the summer of 2017.

A two-time title-winner with Porto, Conceicao is managing in the Champions League right now and would be a third Portuguese manager in a row for Tottenham.

Conte expected to land Tottenham job, not Conceicao

Conceicao may have thought this was his perfect time to become Tottenham boss, fulfilling that desire to manage in England.

Sadly for him, it looks like Tottenham are going elsewhere.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Antonio Conte is heading to London to sign a deal with Tottenham until 2023.

That means Conte will reunite with Fabio Paratici at Tottenham and will leave Conceicao wondering when his England opportunity will arrive.

Conte and Conceicao actually used to play against each other in Juventus v Lazio games, and it looks like Conte will come out on top in the Tottenham race.
