Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane had a ‘lukewarm’ relationship with Nuno Espirito Santo before the Portuguese boss was sacked today.
That’s according to The Mirror, who claim that Kane and Nuno didn’t exactly love each other during their time together at Tottenham.
Kane certainly didn’t look happy, but many put it down to not being able to secure a move away from Tottenham over the summer.
It now seems that Nuno didn’t quite have the relationship with Kane that predecessors Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino did at Tottenham.
Maybe that played a part in Tottenham deciding to part ways with Nuno this morning, with Daniel Levy looking to keep his big-name player happy.
Tottenham players allegedly didn’t believe in Nuno
The report adds that a number of Tottenham players simply didn’t believe in the tactics Nuno was bringing to the club.
That’s certainly how it looked on the pitch as well.

Tottenham offered nothing going under Nuno. Even when he won the first Manager of the Month this season, Tottenham had only managed one goal from open play in three outings.
That continued against Manchester United on Saturday, with Tottenham failing to even have a shot on target.
Few Tottenham players have impressed this season, and seem to have got their wish as the club chase a new manager.
Nuno has taken the blame here, but if Tottenham’s players don’t react to a new manager too, the attention may turn to them.
