Some Arsenal fans are reacting to footage of James Maddison on Saturday.
In a video released by Leicester City on Sunday, Arsenal fans have spotted Maddison’s look of disappointment in the tunnel after the game.
The Gunners won 2-0 away to Brendan Rodgers’s side.
There was a small subplot in the form of Maddison after Arsenal tried – and failed – to bring him to North London during the summer transfer window.
And the look on the England international’s face said it all directly after the game, amid the noise of a raucous away dressing room.
Here’s what some fans of the Emirates Stadium club are saying on Twitter:
Save
Maddison nearly proved why Arsenal wanted him in the first place.
Toward the end of the first half, the former Norwich City playmaker was wheeling away to celebrate after what looked like a stunning free kick – and it was.
Problem is, it was also a ridiculous save as Aaron Ramsdale tipped Maddison’s effort on to the crossbar.
In fairness to the 24-year-old, there were widespread reports at the time that he was keen to join Mikel Arteta’s side.
So Arsenal fans can’t goad the player for making the wrong mistake because, if rumours are believed, he wanted the switch.
