
Chris Wilder lauded Arsenal on BBC Radio 5 Live (30/10, 14:28) for an ‘outstanding’ display, with Aaron Ramsdale among those to thrive as Mikel Arteta’s side beat Leicester City 2-0.
The Gunners are now unbeaten in their last seven Premier League fixtures to move up to fifth in the table. Despite the north Londoners ending August bottom of the standings and without a win or a goal after three-straight defeats.
Ramsdale was vital for Arsenal in shutting Leicester out at the King Power Stadium with an inspired performance in goal. The £24m summer signing from Sheffield United continually made himself big and stretched to fill the Gunners’ goal frame, as he refused to be beaten.

Wilder’s former number one did magnificently to tip Kelechi Iheanacho’s drive around his post to maintain his side’s two-goal advantage. Gabriel Magalhaes and Emile Smith Rowe handing the Gunners an early lead in the East Midlands.
Gabriel and his central defensive partner, Benjamin White, were also among the Arsenal stars to impress Wilder against Leicester. The currently-unemployed manager believes the Gunners’ delivered a strong team performance, with everyone playing their part to win.
“I thought Arsenal were outstanding all over the pitch,” Wilder said. “They had everything, they put their bodies on the line, two centre-halves were excellent. They changed it tactically when they had to. The spirit of the team was superb, the keeper made saves, so everyone contributed on what was a great day for Arsenal.”
Wilder reserves special praise for Arsenal ace Ramsdale vs Leicester
Wilder was particularly enthusiastic with praise for what Ramsdale produced in Arsenal’s net against Leicester. The 23-year-old made 33 appearances under Wilder during his time at Bramall Lane, and left his former boss in awe.
“The timing of that Ramsdale save is huge,” Wilder said (30/10, 13:32) after the Arsenal ace produced a stunning dive to deny Leicester midfielder James Maddison from a free-kick.

“Leicester get one back and Brendan gets the troops together and they’ll come out with renewed optimism in the second-half. But that will have knocked a bit of stuffing out of the Leicester players.”
Ramsdale has now kept five clean sheets in eight appearances for Arsenal after shutting out Leicester on Saturday. He has additionally only conceded four goals in all competitions with the Gunners, after a stunning display against the Foxes.
