Newcastle United are searching for a new manager, and Michael Ball has suggested that Ronald Koeman could be an option after leaving Barcelona.

The Magpies parted ways with Steve Bruce last week as their new owners look to land a new manager of their own.

There has been little movement on that front in recent days, but Newcastle may now face a battle with Barcelona for a new boss.

The Catalan giants last night parted ways with manager Ronald Koeman after a 1-0 defeat away at Rayo Vallecano.

Koeman finds himself out of work just as Newcastle seek a new boss – and Ball thinks it could be a match made in heaven.

Koeman to Newcastle – perfect timing?

Pundit Ball, a former Everton player who still analyses the Toffees now, saw plenty of Koeman at Goodison Park.

Koeman didn’t exactly fare well as Everton manager, spending just 16 months in charge of the Toffees.

Having rebuilt his reputation in charge of the Netherlands, Koeman became Barca boss in August 2020.

A 58% win rate isn’t horrific, but Koeman’s style of play and poor start to the season has resulted in his sacking.

Ball has now suggested that Koeman will walk into another well-paid job despite falling flat at Barcelona.

The former left back added that this could be perfect timing for Newcastle to make Koeman their new manager given his Premier League experience.
