Kris Boyd stated that Celtic legend Scott Brown ‘loved it’ after he scored for Aberdeen against Rangers on Wednesday night, as he told Soccer Special on Sky Sports (27/10/21 at 8:05 pm).
The ex-Rangers man was offering regular updates on the Premiership showdown from Ibrox, when Brown headed Aberdeen, at the time, 2-0 ahead.
And this is how Boyd reacted when the Celtic hero wheeled away in jubilation after scoring last night.
“Oh, he loved it, that’s for sure,” said Boyd. “It was a ball in on the left-hand side, from the corner kick. Scott Brown got away from James Tavernier, with a bullet diving header to make it 2-0.
“It’s a very subdued Ibrox now, that’s for sure.”
Even though Aberdeen burst into a 2-0 lead, the Gers hit back and recorded a point on home soil, but it was still valuable points dropped from Steven Gerrard’s men.
It was actually a very good evening for those in Celtic colours because every team around them dropped points.
Ange Postecoglou’s side put in one of their best displays under his stewardship, as they beat Hibernian 3-1 at Easter Road.
Celtic are now two points behind the Scottish champions, and slowly but surely, they are getting their engine going.
Whilst Brown will be hoping his Aberdeen side can push on from their current eighth spot.
He will, no doubt, be urging his former club on in their quest to win back their Premiership crown.
