Liverpool’s 5-0 win over Manchester United was one of the results of the season, yet Gladbach might just topped Jurgen Klopp’s performance with their own win against Bayern Munich.

The Bundesliga side took on the Bavarian giants in the DFB Pokal. And even with manager Julien Naglesmann not on the touchline due to COVID-19, Bayern fielded a strong XI featuring the likes of Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski.

Despite this, Adi Hutter’s Gladbach put on a showcase and a half as the home side won 5-0 against Bayern. And the social media admin decided to have some fun post-match.

Gladbach’s official UK Twitter account posted a tweet of the Bundesliga side standing in solidary with Liverpool after both club’s claimed massive 5-0 wins over the past few days.

As you would expect, the post went viral amongst football fans, with supporters finding the tweet amusing given the context of two massive European clubs being battered 5-0.

Yet Liverpool fans in particular were amused by it. As well as Gladbach beating a European rival in Bayern, the Bundesliga club have links with the Merseyside giants linking back to the 1970s.
