According to Maarten Wijffels, Newcastle will make a bid for Feyenoord forward Luis Sinisterra, as PIF look to bring him to the Premier League.
What’s the story?
Well, the exciting 22-year-old could become the first signing of the post-Mike Ashley era at Newcastle.
Speaking on Voetbalpodcast, his podcast for Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, Wijffels said: “This will be the €20m (£17m) sale that will go through.
“He has a lot, that goal against Union Berlin that Jahanbakhsh made. Like he sometimes takes the ball, always facing forward. A really wonderful player. Newcastle United will immediately start bidding.”
If true, Newcastle fans should get excited.
The 3-cap Colombia international has already netted nine goals this season in 17 appearances, while also providing six assists.
Sinisterra is, without question, one of the most in-form players across Europe right now, so it’s no wonder the Magpies are looking at him.
If Wijffels is telling the truth, the £17m move would become Feyenoord’s new record sale.
On the basis of his form so far this season, Sinisterra would be worth every penny.
Newcastle taking a risk with Luis Sinisterra

Of course, it can be risky to sign players from the Eredivisie.
It’s a very hit-and-miss division to go shopping in, and Newcastle have experienced both sides of the coin.
It was PSV Eindhoven who sold Gini Wijnaldum to the Magpies back in 2015, where he thrived with 11 Premier League goals in his first season, before a £25m move to Liverpool.
However, Newcastle also saw how some Eredivisie players struggle to adapt to the Premier League when signing Luuk de Jong.

Newcastle thought they were getting a prolific striker, having netted 135 goals in the Eredivisie in total throughout his career.
However, the Dutchman failed to score in 12 appearances for the Magpies before departing Tyneside.
Evidently, the signing of Sinisterra could go either way.
