According to Fabrizio Romano, Abdoulaye Doucoure may be back in action for Everton sooner than many had thought.
The Frenchman went down against West Ham earlier this month with a broken foot, and such an injury usually takes quite a while to recover from.
However, it seems as though Doucoure’s problem isn’t as serious as the initial prognosis suggested.
Indeed, Romano says that Doucoure is already working on his recovery, and he’s hoping to be back on the pitch in four weeks.
This is certainly a big boost for Everton. Doucoure has been one of the Toffees’ best players this season. He’s already provided four assists and he’s thriving under Rafa Benitez.
Everton are certainly a better side with Doucoure on the pitch and the fact that he’ll be back in action sooner rather than later will be a welcomed piece of news.
It also helps that there is an international break during this period, so the midfielder shouldn’t actually miss that much football, despite the fact he still faces a month on the sidelines.
Fingers crossed the Frenchman will return from injury and immediately get back to his best form, because, at times this season, he’s been nigh on unplayable.
