Liverpool could be without Caoimhin Kelleher for tomorrow’s League Cup clash against Preston North End, and some supporters are fearing the worst with Adrian and Loris Karius now in contention to feature.
According to Goal, the Republic of Ireland international will miss the Reds trip to Deepdale due to illness. With Jurgen Klopp likely to rest Alisson Becker, there’s a chance one of Adrian or Karius could start for Liverpool.
Adrian has been ridiculed by Liverpool supporters over the past few seasons for a string of poor performances and errors for the Reds. Whereas Karius has not featured for the Reds since the infamous 2018 UEFA Champions League final.
Indeed, with Kelleher now looking set to miss tomorrow’s League Cup game, Klopp could turn to Adrian or Karius. And supporters on social media are eager for the latter to start.
Whilst the German goalkeeper has not played in three years for the Reds, supporters are keen to see Karius between the sticks again for Liverpool.
And with Klopp a manager who doesn’t give too much thought to the League Cup, there’s a genuine chance Karius will feature for Liverpool for the first time since 2018.
