Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter to Dele Alli’s Instagram story, where he is seemingly doing more fitness and strength work.
Throughout the summer, Spurs fans have seen Alli post various videos and images of him putting in the hard yards away from the pitch – in the hope that things change for him out on the pitch.
But, it then frustrates them that they aren’t seeing the results out on the field of play.
That’s the case once again, as he is now out of the first-team picture once again in North London.
It does seem as though Spurs fans would rather see the end results on the field, rather than what Alli is doing outside of it.
It doesn’t help Alli’s cause when his former boss – Jose Mourinho – calls him out for being ‘lazy’ in training, it’s probably a tag he won’t be able to shake-off unless he starts putting the ball into the back of the net again.
Alli’s career, towards the back end of Mauricio Pochettino’s reign, during large parts of Mourinho’s tenure, and now under Nuno, has done nothing but go backwards.
If the attack-minded midfielder could find an answer, he would no doubt bottle it up and use it every time he was in trouble.
The issue facing Alli here is that it does seem as though he is on his last legs in North London.
If he isn’t able to secure his first-team place under Nuno, then it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him leave and don the colours of another club – probably as early as the winter transfer window.
