Mikel Arteta has shared that Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ‘lead by example’ in Arsenal training, as he told his pre-match press conference.
The Arsenal boss claimed that certain things have ‘changed’ recently and the senior duo are doing all of this for the ‘benefit of the club’.
Both Lacazette and Aubameyang have been on the scoresheet during the past few games – both against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, respectively.
Many Arsenal fans would perhaps like to see them playing together a lot more, only against Villa have supporters seen that this term.
Perhaps Arteta will do it against Leeds in the League Cup this evening, but then again, it wouldn’t be a surprise if wholesale changes are made.
Ahead of that game, this is what Arteta had to say about two of his senior stars, both on and off the pitch.
“They lead by example,” said Arteta. “Not only there (on the pitch), but also on the training ground.
“Certain things, and a role they could probably have three years ago in this squad, now it has changed. Human beings change themselves, every six months, we have all new cells. And that’s incredible.
“So, we are able to adapt pretty quickly and we can manipulate and change our minds very quickly as well. I think they are doing that for the benefit of the club.
“But, for sure, the benefit of themselves.”

Arsenal have a much stronger squad than Leeds, so they can make those changes, yet still field a pretty healthy XI.
Lacazette only started his first game of the campaign on Friday night, so will he get another shot of the action?
Or will Arteta turn to younger faces in the squad?
Either way, this is a chance for Arsenal to go deep into this competition and put up another trophy in their cabinet.
