Some Celtic fans aren’t convinced by Ange Postecoglou potentially signing Lee Buchanan.
According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic are keen on signing the Derby County defender.
The Hoops boss has had to use five different left-backs this season already and Buchanan may be lined up as a long-term replacement for Kieran Tierney.
Tierney left the Bhoys to join Arsenal two years ago but really, Celtic haven’t really come close to signing a player anywhere near as good as him.
The Rams have well-documented financial problems which could correlate to Postecoglou’s interest in the lad.
Here’s how some Celtic fans are reacting to the speculation:
If Celtic can exploit County’s money worries to sign this lad on the cheap then really, it’s an absolute no brainer for Postecoglou.
Wayne Rooney, the Derby boss, is a massive fan of the youngster and he clearly can see a lot of good things in him.
Buchanan is already an England Under-21 international and should a player of this potenetial find himself available for peanuts in January, well the Scottish h Premiership giants would be fools to ignore him.
Yes Postecoglou has a lot of left-backs, but that’s the problem because none of them are right for the role long term.
Dumping a few in January and bringing in Buchanan makes a hell of a lot of sense and you need only see the laundry list of other clubs who’ll be linked in the coming months to know this is a probable steal.
