Some Liverpool fans on Twitter are absolutely loving what Daniel Sturridge tweeted during Sunday’s mauling of Manchester United.
Jurgen Klopp’s side enjoyed a 5-0 hammering of the Red Devils at Old Trafford yesterday afternoon.
A hat-trick from Mohamed Salah helped Liverpool pile an ungodly amount of pressure on United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, whose side were booed off at half time, when the score was 4-0.
Sturridge, who was released by the Anfield club in the summer of 2019, tweeted that his old side were playing like Premier League champions.
Here’s how some fans of the Merseyside club reacted on Twitter:
In a word, absolutely.
There’s no way that fans of Manchester City and Chelsea watched Liverpool at Old Trafford and didn’t automatically feel worse about their own side’s chances of lifting the trophy come May.
Klopp even dropped two bonafide stars in the form of Sadio Mane and Joel Matip – and had Fabinho missing through injury – and the hosts were still unable to lay a glove on them.
The German manager has quite a ridiculous squad at his disposal, one with a stupid amount of strength in depth.
And honestly, nobody would be surprised if last night was remembered as the day that Liverpool proved they were still good enough to be champions, after surrendering their title to City last term.
