Reported Arsenal and Liverpool target Noa Lang is a “monster” of a footballer producing statistics “unprecedented” for one so young, Netherlands international teammate Memphis Depay has told Eleven Sports.
The Club Brugge winger may have been compared to Neymar thanks to his penchant for drifting in from the left-hand side and wreaking havoc in the final third, but there’s a bit of the Depays about him too.
Like Barcelona’s number nine, Lang has had to endure plenty of questions about his attitude. But, after being bombed out of Ajax and rocking up at the Jan Breydel Stadium 12 months ago, he has let his football do the talking – even if he may still have some growing up to do.
Marcelo Bielsa may have been spooked by Lang’s lack of work rate off the ball – The Athletic claims Leeds United pulled the plug on a potential summer deal – but a handful of Premier League bosses do appear to be willing to take the rough with the silky smooth.
Would Noa Lang be a hit at Arsenal or Liverpool?
According to Voetbal24, Arsenal are prepared to offer £25 million for Lang in the January transfer window, although it isn’t certain how he would fit into a front line already featuring Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Martin Odegaard.

Calciomercato believes Liverpool are interested too. And the Amsterdam-born 22-year-old is far from the first left-sided frontman to have been linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks.
“Everyone knows his qualities,” Memphis says of a man who produced 17 goals and 11 assists during his debut season in Belgium, firing Club Brugge to the Jupiler League title.
“I think he’s a monster. He’s dangerous, he is very fast and he is also still young. The numbers he produces are unprecedented, especially at his age.”
Club Brugge coach Philippe Clement is under no illusions about Lang’s future, admitting earlier this month the newly capped Netherlands international wouldn’t be swimming in the relatively small pond that’s Belgian league football for much longer.
