Everyone knows Leeds United have a gem in the form of Raphinha.
Fans of the Elland Road club have known it for over a year following his summer move from Rennes in 2020.
The 24-year-old has a stunning first year in the Premier League with Leeds, establishing himself as one of the division’s most exciting attacking players.
But the problem for the West Yorkshire side is that it isn’t such a secret anymore.
The world is catching up to Leeds’ fans knowledge of the player now after his performances for Brazil earlier this month.
Raphinha played in all three of his country’s World Cup qualifiers and a certain Denilson has been blown away by his adaption to the international scene, claiming that not even Neymar had his confidence early on.
He said to TalkFlow’s YouTube channel: “Not even Neymar had the confidence that this boy had in these three games. Not even Neymar. The boy flew. The boy plays like hell man.”
Leeds fans will be desperate to see Raphinha’s name excluded from the Brazil squad for next month’s international break.
That’s because Raphinha suffered a nasty ankle injury in the 1-1 draw with Wolves on Saturday.
He needed to be helped down the tunnel after going off injured and although the lad himself claims that he’s fine, he’s too important to miss for an extended period of time.
Leeds have only won one of their nine Premier League games this season, resulting in a relegation battle right now.
Should Raphina were to pick up a more serious injury on international duty, the Whites’ season could go from bad to a thousand times worse.
