Eddie Nketiah has labelled Thomas Partey as the the ‘Ghana Maradona’ on his Instagram story.

The Arsenal striker posted his caption with an image of Partey scoring for Arsenal against Aston Villa on Friday night.

It was the first time that Partey scored for Arsenal, since his big-money last summer, and whilst it wasn’t a left-footed strike, it was a headed goal from the hard-hitting Ghana player.

Arsenal fans have felt that Partey has more goals in his locker and he has the ability to contribute more when going forward.

One way he can do that is by playing on a more regular basis, building up his fitness and sharpness, then testing himself at his full limit.

Unfortunately for him, since his move from Atletico, at a club where he remained injury-free, he has paid a number of visits to the treatment room.

Perhaps the tough nature of the Premier League, where the intensity is a lot stronger, and the game is more physical, has played a part in that.

But now that Partey is able to put his foot down on the accelerator, he is producing his best football since he was signed by the club and Mikel Arteta is slowing starting to see some improvements in his side.

Partey may not have a magic left wand, he will leave that to someone like Martin Odegaard, who has already scored an outstanding free-kick for Arsenal this season.

But what he does have is being dominant in the middle of the park, eating away like a pac-man at any attacking player that comes his way, making the right decision on the ball and always being positive.
