Tim Sherwood has claimed that the ‘jury is still out’ for him with Nuno Espirito Santo at Tottenham, as he told the Kelly and Wrighty Show.

The outspoken TV pundit claimed that Nuno will come ‘under a certain amount of pressure’ soon, as he made reference to his style of play and how fans won’t accept it if they aren’t winning.

At this moment in time, Spurs are putting wins on the board, as they did against Newcastle United last time out.

But it wasn’t too long ago that they were suffering numerous defeats against their London rivals and lots of questions were being asked.

Other than Jose Mourinho’s trophy-laden career, in terms of style, Nuno is his fellow countryman’s younger brother, in footballing terms.

Sherwood shared that, when Mourinho was in charge, he would have got more stick from supporters if they were allowed into stadiums and he thinks that’s what will come Nuno’s way this season.

“The jury is still out for me,” said Sherwood. “I still think he is going to come under a certain amount of pressure. I think Jose got away with it because there were no fans there.

“Now, the fans are in the stadium. If they don’t continue to win, then they will want to be entertained. I am not sure the brand of football Nuno dishes up is very entertaining.”

There were question marks over Nuno’s style at Wolves, albeit he did produce back-to-back top-seven finishes during his time at the club.

If he gets Spurs into Europe, then fans won’t mind too much, then again, will it be accepted if it’s the Europa Conference League again?

Well, Daniel Levy sacked Mourinho for something not too dissimilar, so only time will tell.

But, at this moment in time, Spurs are sitting in the top five, ahead of so-called title-challengers Manchester United, and those at Hotspur Way would take that at the end of the season, no doubt.
