Gary Neville has claimed that Mo Salah ‘can take any game at the scruff of its neck’ after he netted a stunning hat-trick during Liverpool’s 5-0 win at Manchester United on Sunday, as he told Sky Sports.

In a game that will be written into the history books, Liverpool, with one of the most in-form players at their disposal, rocked up at Old Trafford and battered their opponents.

It was yet another match ball for Salah, who has only failed to score in one game this season in all competitions, and that came against the mighty Burnley.

There’s no doubt that Neville would have been raging at what he was seeing from his boyhood club out on that pitch.

But he admired what Salah produced today and shared that he is a player at his ‘absolute peak’.

“He is just at his peak,” said Neville. “His absolute peak. This is a player who, at this moment in time, can take any game at the scruff of its neck.”

Last week, Thierry Henry suggested that Karim Benzema is the best player in the world and ‘ahead’ of Salah, at this moment in time.

The France legend has every right to make such comments because he would have been regarded as the best of the best during his playing days.

But surely Salah now has to be considered as the king of, not just Egypt, but the footballing world right now.

He’s also scored in ten games in a row and you just can’t see him not scoring a couple of goals, nevermind not scoring at all.
