Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to an image of Naby Keita wearing a suspiciously small ‘shin pad’ against Atletico Madrid.
What’s the story?
Keita was in action for Liverpool in their Champions League game against Atletico in Spain in midweek.
The 26-year-old midfielder started the match in Spain and scored a superb goal.
However, the Guinea international struggled in the middle of the park.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp decided to take off Keita at half time.
The Reds won 3-2.
And now, a photo has emerged of Keita wearing quite a small shin pad on his right leg.
As you can see below, it looks like a small phone or AirPod case.
What are Liverpool fans saying?
As you can see from the tweets below, some Liverpool fans are having fun at the photon.
Some are suggesting that it was a phone, while others think that it is an Airpod case.
Now, that is unlikely, and the Liverpool fans know it.
It’s just banter.
It is probably extra protection for Keita on top of the proper shin pad he was wearing.
