Aston Villa’s Mahmoud Trezeguet has posted on Instagram that Mo Salah is the ‘best player in the world’.
The currently injured Villa winger was responding to Salah’s IG post, where the Liverpool man was standing next to a wax-work of himself.
Trezeguet posted in the comments section: “The best player in the world.”, whilst Dejan Lovren also posted: “You asked that the guy in white should be taller for 10cm?”
Not many can argue that Salah is probably the best footballer on the planet today, with only very few being able to match or surpass his blistering start to the 2021/22 campaign.
Only Burnley have managed to keep Salah at bay this season, with the Liverpool forward scoring against every other club in all competitions, including two solo efforts against Manchester City and Watford.
It’s resulted in the 29-year-old finding the back of the net on 12 occasions in 11 games this term, including a brace against Atletico in the Champions League last time out.
Perhaps only Karim Benzema could argue that he is in better form than the Egyptian.
The France international is equally ripping it up on the domestic, European and world stage.
Benzema has scored 11 in 11, including supplying eight assists, added his goals in both the semi-finals and the finals of the UEFA Nations League, as France triumphed once more.
A certain Thierry Henry thinks his fellow countryman is the best in the world right now, because he has been a ‘complete’ player for much longer than Salah.
Whatever the argument, one thing is for sure, you have to do something pretty special from keeping either player from scoring, assisting or causing some kind of havoc in the final third.
