Some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to latest comments from manager Mikel Arteta on Alexandre Lacazette.

What’s the story?

Arsenal manager Arteta has said that the Gunners could still offer Lacazette a new contract.

The 30-year-old France international striker is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season.

No new deal is in place at the moment.

Arsenal boss Arteta has praised the commitment of Lacazette, and has said that the former Lyon star could stay at the Emirates Stadium beyond the summer of 2022.

Arteta told Arsenal’s official website: “No, we will see. Anything is possible.”

The Spaniard added about the striker: “I had no doubts about that, and if I did I would probably have suggested doing something different with him in the summer.

“When a player cannot find the motivation and interest din just his financial future, it is not the case with Laca and he has shown that since I’ve been here every single day and that’s why he is a really important player for us.”

What are Arsenal fans saying?

As you can see from the tweets below, Arsenal fans are not convinced that Lacazette will stay at the club beyond the end of his current contract.

Well, some of them anyway.

While some Arsenal fans believe that the striker should be played more, others are criticising Arteta for making such comments despite not giving him enough chances.

In our view, Lacazette – who earns £182,063 per week as salary, according to Spotrac – will leave Arsenal at the end of the season.

After all, the striker is 30 now, and he will not want to carry on warning the bench at the Emirates Stadium.

The Frenchman made 22 starts in the Premier League last season and is yet to start in the league this campaign.
