Jack Clarke has posted that he is ‘patiently waiting’ for his chance at Tottenham Hotspur after their defeat to Vitesse last night.

Left out again

Clarke was named among the Tottenham substitutes yesterday, but didn’t get on the pitch.

It was a familiar story for the £10 million winger (The Sun), who has played for just 45 minutes since Nuno’s arrival at Tottenham in the summer.

Clarke once seemed to have the world at his feet, when he arrived at Spurs as a promising teenager from Leeds United.

However, he has failed to really make an impact since his move to North London.

The 20-year-old has made just four first-team appearances for Spurs to date, and it seems that he is eager for more opportunities after his post last night.

Frustrating times?

Intriguingly, both Elliott Thorpe and Jack Roles, who have now left Spurs, posted laughing emojis in the comments.

Clarke’s omission may have been made slightly more frustrating as he saw Dilan Markanday come on to make his debut.

While Markanday has been in excellent for at under-23 level for Spurs, Clarke was once a fairly big money signing and he now seems to have slipped down the pecking order to be behind some of the club’s more promising youngsters.

Clarke, therefore, may be best served by heading out on loan in January – and Tottenham surely won’t block a move if bids come in, as they look to aid the wide-man’s development.
