Tottenham Hotspur may have Harry Kane, but they haven’t been able to solve the conundrum of having backup behind the England star.
We’re somehow approaching 2022 and Tottenham still haven’t really found a striker to support Kane.
Vincent Janssen, Fernando Llorente and Carlos Vinicius have all had a go, but haven’t exactly lasted long at Tottenham.
That means Fabio Paratici is now looking to sign another striker, with Tottenham now chasing Paul Onuachu.
The Daily Mail claim that Tottenham have joined West Ham, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in the race for Genk star Onuachu.
Paratici seemingly wants a target man at Tottenham
Onuachu is a huge presence at 6ft 7in tall, and he smashed 35 for Genk last season.
His enormous frame makes him a major threat in the air, and he could represent a great option off the bench to cause mayhem from crosses.
This link is interesting because Onuachu isn’t the first Nigerian target man Paratici has targeted for Tottenham.
The Telegraph reported over the summer that Tottenham were keen to land Simy – a 6ft 6in target man from Crotone.
Targeting Onuachu too suggests that Paratici wants to bring in a big, physical target man who can rough up defenders off the bench and give Nuno Espirito Santo a direct threat.
Onuachu is a level or two above Simy, and could finally help solve Tottenham’s conundrum behind Harry Kane.
