Nikolas Cruz has pleaded guilty to murdering 17 people at the 2018 Parkland school shooting.
The 23-year-old pleaded guilty to 17 counts of attempted murder and faces a death penalty or life sentence in prison.

Who are Nikolas Cruz’s parents?
Nikolas’ was adopted by Lynda and Roger Cruz shortly shortly after his birth. He was born on September 24th, 1998 in Margate, Florida.
He lived with his adoptive family in Parkland, Florida.
Roger passed away when Nikolas was a child, while Lynda died two months before the 2018 Parkland mass shooting.
Lynda and Roger later adopted Nikolas’ brother, Zachary, who is currently 21 years old.
Who are his biological parents?
Nikolas’ biological mother is called Brenda Woodard. The name of his biological father hasn’t been made public to the media.
The Sun has reported that Brenda has a history of arrests, including convictions for battery, grand theft and drug possession, which date back to 1988.
Brenda reportedly lived miles away from Nikolas, in different locations in Broward County.
According to court documents, Nikolas and his brother Zachary have a half-sister called Daniella, who is 31 years old.
His brother speaks out
Zachary has come forward with a statement after Nikolas pleaded guilty in court.
“I am pleased that my brother is taking responsibility for his actions. The fact that he is doing so without a deal in place tells me he is sincere,” he told The Sun.
“I pray for the victims and their families every day and I hope they find some peace.”
