Liverpool fans love that Jurgen Klopp didn’t rise to Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone’s bait after full-time last night.
A wave goodbye
Simeone and Klopp are two of the most passionate and expressive managers around on the touchline, but the actions of the Atletico manager were widely criticised yesterday.
Simeone ran off down the tunnel at full-time after Liverpool beat his side 3-2 in the Champions League, with the Argentine failing to shake Klopp’s hand.
The Liverpool boss had made some rather disparaging remarks in the past about his style of football previously.
But Simeone’s apparent lack of respect towards his counterpart still caught many supporters and pundits off guard.
Klopp at least was able to have the last laugh, as not only did Liverpool pick up the three points but his actions earned widespread praise from Reds fans.
Klopp didn’t respond angrily to Simeone’s snub, instead he simply waved the Atleti manager off he has ran down the tunnel.
And Liverpool fans absolutely loved seeing Klopp’s reaction at full-time.
Fiesty encounter pending?
Liverpool and Atleti are due to face off again next month, in what could now be an even more feisty affair.
The Reds’ win in Spain last night has put them in a very commanding position in their group now.
Liverpool have taken maximum points from their opening three Champions League games and if they are able to beat Atleti at Anfield then they will book their spot in the knockout stages.
