Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to Andros Townsend’s Twitter message where he was celebrating 250 Premier League games.

The Everton winger played his 250th game of his career on Sunday, when the Spurs academy product started for his side during their defeat to West Ham.

In a career that started in Spurs colours, Townsend spent several years trying to make a name for himself out on loan, before breaking through at White Hart Lane.

It came under the stewardship of Tim Sherwood and his performances in North London landed him in the England squad.

Spurs fans have congratulated the 30-year-old for the career he has had and they think more is to come.

One thing Townsend has always showcased during his career, is his ability to score some stunning goals.

Many a time, he has strapped some sort of cannon to his left foot because he has produced some belters.

The best of the lot probably came in Crystal Palace colours, when his thunderous volley from outside of the box at Manchester City was something even Steven Gerrard and Paul Scholes would be proud of.

Even though he was a free-transfer to Everton this summer, he is one of the most in-form forwards in the Premier League, scoring three times and assisting twice in eight matches.

That also included a Goal of the Month goal for September, when he curled his effort from outside of the area against Burnley.

Everton will host Spurs at the start of next month and Townsend will, no doubt, be looking to showcase those long-distance skills again.
