Celtic beat Ferencvaros 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon, with winger Jota stealing the show despite not even getting himself on the scoresheet.

Jota becoming a Celtic hero

Signed on loan from Benfica in August, Jota is already looking like a masterstroke signing for Celtic.

Celtic can turn Jota’s loan move permanent for just over £6million, and that looks like a ridiculous bargain.

Jota’s magical moment against Ferencvaros came in the second half. With Celtic needing inspiration at 0-0, Jota stepped up.

The Portuguese ace played a stunning, defence-splitting pass right into Kyogo Furuhashi’s path, and the Japan star finished it off.

Jota later played a role in Balint Vecsei’s own goal and generally looked like the best player on the pitch.

Fans absolutely love Jota, and even former Celtic players are sharing their admiration.

Miller demands Celtic move for Jota

Left back Calvin Miller – who came up through the Celtic ranks before leaving in 2020 – now turns out for Chesterfield.

Miller clearly still loves Celtic, and took to Twitter after seeing Jota’s pass for the Kyogo goal.

Miller simply offered three words – ‘buy Jota now’, a message that many Celtic fans would echo.

Celtic are surely already planning to make Jota’s move permanent, with his latest quality display another sign that they have a star on their hands.

Whether it’s next week, next month, January, next summer, you can almost guarantee that Jota will now become a permanent Celtic player.
