Reports have appeared which claimed that Shatta Wale had been allegedly shot. Shortly after that, police investigation started about the alleged incident.
The news broke on Monday, October 18th and left many fans of the musician worried.
Who is Shatta Wale?
Shatta Wale is a 36-year-old reggae-dancehall artist and rapper from Ghana.
The musician, whose name is Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr, is best-known for his single ‘Dancehall King’ which helped him scoop the Artist of the Year award at the 2014 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Shatta is also an actor and has appeared in several films such as Never Say Never, The trial of Shatta Wale and Shattered Lives.
Shatta Wale shot claims explored
Police officers have taken action following reports that Shatta has been allegedly shot at East Legon in Ghana.
According to a Facebook statement from Ghana Police Service, police officers have started an investigation to find the whereabouts of the singer and have asked the public to help with any information they have.
“The attention of the Police has been drawn to the widely circulated news on the alleged gunshot-attack on one Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale,” the announcement reads.
“On hearing the news, the police have launched an investigation into the matter including making contacts with some of his close friends and family members and all of them claim not to have knowledge of his whereabouts or the alleged incident.”
Shatta Wale’s rep responds
As reported by Punch and according to Shatta’s representative Nana Dope, the singer is alive but has been allegedly taken to a hospital.
The publication reported that the musician made a statement via his official Facebook profile and alleged that his life was in danger.
According to Shatta and as reported by Punch, a prophet allegedly told the singer that something bad would happen to him on October 18th.
Ghana Police Service hasn’t come forward with an update about the alleged incident and whereabouts of Shatta at the time of writing.
