Cardiff City striker Kieffer Moore has changed his agent after missing out on a move to Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers in August, as reported by the Sun (17 October, page 59).

Bluebirds fans everywhere were breathing an almighty sigh of relief when the transfer window closed on September 1.

Retaining the services of their first-choice number nine, last season’s 20-goal top scorer, felt like a massive statement of intent for a team who went into the new campaign with genuine promotion ambitions.

Moore’s second season in South Wales, however, is proving to be very different from his first.

The towering Welshman has scored one goal in his last 12 games – and none since a 2-1 win at Blackpool in the second match of 2021/22.

Could Kieffer Moore still get a Premier League move?

As Cardiff thundered head-first into rock bottom during Sunday’s 3-0 defeat to bitter rivals Swansea City – Moore anonymous and underused, starved of service while Jamie Patterson produced the sort of performance he tends to every few months – the late-blooming centre-forward could hardly be blamed if he is counting the days until the January window.

According to the BBC, Wolves spoke to Cardiff about a deal for Moore on the final day of the market. The under-fire Mick McCarthy, however, insists that ‘no offer came in that was anywhere near the club’s valuation’, slamming his old employers for leaving their approach until so late in the window.

With the Sun claiming that Moore has now recruited a new agent, it seems the former Millwall, Yeovil Town and Wigan Athletic front man is taking things into his own hands.

With Cardiff slipping down to 20th after a sixth defeat in a row, few would blame him if Moore was to leap from a seemingly sinking ship.

The question is, with Raul Jimenez fit and firing again, has that Molineux move passed Moore by?

What is certain is that Moore has little choice but to pack his bags and leave Cardiff behind if he wants to play top-flight football for the first time in his nomadic career.
