Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min could actually play against Newcastle United today despite suggestions he will miss out.

That’s according to Yonhap News back in Son’s homeland of South Korea.

They claim to have spoken to a source who spoke to Son’s agent. It’s then stated that Son has tested negative against COVID-19 and is available to play today.

This sounds a little ‘my mate knows the brother of the kitman’, but we do have to give this some credibility.

Sources back in South Korea may have very close links to Son, hence their ability to find this information.

This will give Tottenham fans renewed hope of seeing Son in action today, though there may be some scepticism over these claims.

Fans will likely want to hear this kind of thing coming from an Alasdair Gold or a Jack Pitt-Brooke, two of the more reliable Tottenham sources, but Yonhap may have a big exclusive here.

Sky Sports reported that two Tottenham played had tested positive for COVID-19 and wouldn’t be available.

The London Evening Standard then noted that Son is ‘not expected to feature’ against Newcastle.

That ultimately raised concerns that Son was one of the players to test positive.

If Yonhap are right though, Son is available and could give Nuno and unexpected boost in the Tottenham side today.
