Slasher fanatics have been loving the soundtrack for Halloween Kills and are even more desperate to get it on vinyl before October 31st.

David Gordon Green’s new horror flick is the 12th movie in the series and has fast become a fan-favourite.

Halloween Kills follows on immediately from 2018’s Halloween where Michael Myers is assumed dead in a burning basement as Laurie goes to the hospital to treat her wounds.

Shock horror, Michael Myers is not actually dead and the wild killing goose chase is back on. If you loved the film, you’ll know the tense soundtrack was even better- so why not purchase it on vinyl?

The original theme music was famously recorded on a small budget in 1978. The instruments used were software synths, vintage analogue equipment, and live instruments including a Dave Smith OB-6, bowed guitar, Roland Juno, Moog, Roland System 1, Roland System 8, a range of guitar pedals, mellotron, and piano.

John Carpenter who did the score for the other movies from the series including Halloween Kills had a more experimental approach to this film. Taking modern sounds and amplifying them to another spooky level.

Tracks such as “Unkillable” and “Rampage” have a deep bass with overriding synths that means when the guitar enters the suspense builds. “Michael’s Legend” and “Strode’s at the Hospital” feature classical piano and orchestral scores to engage the viewer.

The film was intended to arrive last October, but it was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, it was finally released on October 15th 2021, along with the soundtrack.

The third and final instalment, Halloween Ends, is expected to arrive in October 2022.
