Kieron Dyer has said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:31pm, October 17, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur right-back Emerson Royal is not at the level of Kyle Walker.
Dyer made the comments about Emerson after watching the Tottenham right-back in action against Newcastle at St. James’ Park in the Premier League this evening.
The former Newcastle midfielder believes that the 22-year-old Brazil international is not as good as City right-back Walker or Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier.
Both Walker and Trippier are former Spurs right-backs.
Dyer said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:31pm, October 17, 2021): “Tottenham had Trippier and Kyle Walker as right-backs.
“The right-back they recruited, Royal, miles off it, for me personally, miles off it. For me, miles off it.”

Let’s be patient with Emerson Royal
Emerson has been playing in the Premier League for only a few weeks.
After all, the 22-year-old joined Tottenham from Barcelona in the summer of 2021.
Tottenham paid €30 million (£25.28m) for the youngster, according to BBC Sport.

Emerson was not particularly bad against Newcastle.
The right-back defended well and join in attacking forays.
The Brazilian did not always make the right decisions, but he did not make any major mistakes either.
Walker and Trippier are much more experienced and more mature than Emerson.
We need to be patient with the defender.
The Tottenham no. 12 has made four starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League so far this season.
