Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to shower Trent Alexander-Arnold in praise, after Liverpool hammered Watford 5-0 at Vicarage Road.
What’s the story?
Well, the BBC Match of the Day host was left flabbergasted by the ability of Alexander-Arnold, who shone in Liverpool’s 5-0 win.
Specifically in the first-half, the £180,000-a-week man’s passing was absolutely superb – he was making the game look easy at times.
Alexander-Arnold should’ve had an assist after sliding a perfect through-ball into Mohamed Salah’s path, although the Egyptian’s touch was heavy.
The 23-year-old completed eight successful long-range passes, more than any other player on the pitch (WhoScored).
You can see what Lineker thought of Alexander-Arnold’s display below.
Interestingly, the 60-year-old believe Liverpool’s No.66 should start for England, despite the fact it’s Gareth Southgate’s most well-stocked area.
Should Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold start for England?

We can’t even believe this is a debate.
Alexander-Arnold is arguably the best right-back on the planet, let alone in England.
Any other nation would have him in their starting XI, and leave him there until the day of his retirement – he is that good.
Yes, Reece James, Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Tariq Lamptey are all good right-backs, but they don’t compare to Alexander-Arnold.

In fact, they don’t come close to him, in our view.
After all, this is a defender who’s scored ten goals and provided 47 assists in 186 games for Liverpool – he isn’t normal.
If Southgate can’t see that Alexander-Arnold should start every game, he shouldn’t be in charge of the Three Lions.
