Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are keen to see a deal done for Raheem Sterling after his latest comments.

Sterling to Spurs?

The possibility of Sterling moving to Tottenham in the summer emerged, with ESPN suggesting that he was a player that Manchester City were willing to let go.

At that moment in time Sterling was reluctant to join Spurs, though – which meant no deal was possible.

Tottenham fans have now seen a potential change of heart from the £49 million England international (Guardian), though.

He said at the FT Business of Sport US summit, which was covered by the Guardian yesterday: “If there was the opportunity to go somewhere else, I would be open to it.

“At this moment in time, football is the most important thing to me.”

Sterling did mention that he would like to move abroad in the interview too.

But Tottenham fans are starting to feel that there may be an opportunity to bring Sterling to the club now, due to his lack of game time.

And plenty of Spurs supporters feel that the winger would be a great addition.

Would Sterling help Spurs?

If Sterling was to join Tottenham he could be a wonderful addition to the group.

The problem for Spurs though is that any deal would likely involve them relinquishing Harry Kane.

It seems unlikely that Tottenham could afford to buy Sterling from City outright.

But the 26-year-old has now been one of the Premier League’s top performers over a number of seasons, despite his lack of recent game time, and he would surely inject quality into Tottenham’s team in the wide areas.
