Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Marcelo Bielsa has given an update on Robin Koch’s fitness, and unfortunately, he has bad news for Leeds fans.
The German has been out of action for some time now. He hasn’t appeared for Leeds since the opening day of the season against Manchester United and his fitness issues have plagued him for a while.
Unfortunately, it’s now gotten to the point where Koch needs surgery to fix his problem, luckily, Bielsa describes this as a simple procedure, but he did have to travel to the US to have it done.
What’s been said?
Bielsa gave an update on Koch:
“Koch is in the USA for simple procedure on his problem in the pubis. Ayling is at the halfway stage of the process of his recovery. Forshaw is available again and Summerville also.”

No luck
Leeds simply aren’t having any luck with injuries at the moment.
We’re less than ten games into the season and this is the second time in month a Leeds player has needed surgery.
Indeed, Luke Ayling had surgery on his knee just over two weeks ago, and now another player needs to have a procedure and Koch is going under the knife.
Combine that with injuries sustained by Patrick Bamford, Raphinha and Diego Llorente and it’s easy to see why Leeds have struggled so far this season.
Fingers crossed this surgery puts an end to any fitness problems Koch has been having and he’s able to get back out onto the pitch sooner rather than later.
