New sounds pop up on TikTok every day, and they can come from just about anything.

Chart-hitting songs, adverts, children’s TV shows, movie quotes, theme tunes, video games. You name it, there’s probably a TikTok sound from it.

The latest song to take over everyone’s For You Page is ‘Holy Spirit Activate’, but where does it come from? Let’s find out.

‘Holy Spirit Activate’ song emerges on TikTok

This month, a new sound has emerged on TikTok called ‘Holy Spirit Activate’.

The bizarrely catchy song says the words “Holy Spirit activate” over and over again in a weird tune.

It’s being used as part of TikTok’s latest viral trend which sees people making hilarious sketches about summoning the Holy Spirit.

For example, when taking an exam or going for an interview, TikTok users are joking they will activate the Holy Spirit for good luck.

Where does it come from?

The song actually comes from a recent episode of the American quiz show Celebrity Family Feud.

Back in September, the members of the American pop group Wilson Phillips appeared on the show and provided us with one of the most hilarious moments in the show’s history.

When it was Chynna Phillips’ turn to play Family Feud, she turned to religion and started summoning the Holy Spirit to help her think of some good answers.

She began dancing and making up her own “Holy Spirit activate” song, which has now gone viral on TikTok.

The chant certainly worked too, as the team managed to win $25,000 for charity.

Steve Harvey found it hilarious

Family Feud host Steve Harvey couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

“11 years, this has never happened before,” he said in disbelief.

However, once he got over the shock, he then joined in with the chant and began dancing around.
