How can fans around the world watch the upcoming sports drama ‘Rashmi Rocket’ and what time will the movie release online?
It’s going to be a busy few days for fans of fantastic Indian content, with Aranmanai 3, Little Things season 4, Sanak, Sardar Udham and Rashmi Rocket all premiering.
The latter movie, Rashmi Rocket, is a Hindi-language sports drama from veteran director Akarsh Khurana and producer Ronnie Screwvala.
The sports drama features fan favourite actress Taapsee Pannu in the leading role, but where will the movie be streaming online and what time will Rashmi Rocket release around the world?
What is Rashmi Rocket about?
Rashmi Rocket is inspired by the real-life story of Dutee Chand, but tells the story of a young female athlete called Rashmi Vera, a tour guide who gave up running after she lost her father in the 2001 earthquake.
However, she shows that she still has the speed and endurance to compete in high-level athletics after saving a soldier from stepping on a land mine.
Encouraged by her friends and colleagues, Rashmi returns to the sport she once loved but rumours that she is secretly a man start to spread throughout the local area.
The rumours and bullying only get worse when she competes in the Asia games, after which she is forced by the commission to undergo multiple blood tests to determine her gender.
What platforms are streaming Rashmi Rocket?
Rashmi Rocket will be exclusively streaming on the ZEE5 platform, as the movie is an original ZEE5 production.
Therefore, fans should not expect the movie to be made available on other platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video or Disney Plus Hotstar.
Rashmi Rocket: Release date and time
Rashmi Rocket will release through the ZEE5 streaming platform on Friday, October 15th.
An official streaming time has not been officially confirmed and at the time of writing, various media outlets are reporting alternative release times.
ZEE5 has unfortunately not commented on the obvious confusion, but a midnight launch is in accordance with many of their original titles.
The first reviews are in…
The first reviews of Rashmi Rocket are in, and the movie has received a decidedly mixed reaction from film critics.
The Times of India gave the movie four stars out of five, stating that it “stays the course of informing, entertaining and educating its audience about an archaic practice.”
However, Rashmi Rocket received a disappointing two and a half stars out of five on The Indian Express and arguing that “You also have to get past the film throwing constructed spanners in the works.”
“Rocket is not just a tribute to women athletes who defy all odds to achieve their dreams, but also to every woman out there who dares to listen to her own voice, unafraid of breaking stereotypes.” – Madhuri V, via Filmibeat.
