A brand new Korean drama is about to take on the world, but what time will ‘My Name’ release on streaming and what is the series about?
2021 had already been a ground-breaking year for Korean dramas on Netflix before Squid Game released to become the platforms biggest title.
However, the streaming giant shows no signs of slowing down, revealing upcoming titles several weeks and months ahead of schedule.
One such upcoming K-drama is ‘My Name’, which has been trending on social media ever since Netflix released the latest promotional posters for the series. So, what is My Name about, when will the series release on Netflix and who are the cast?
What is My Name about?
My Name is an upcoming South Korean drama series about revenge between one of South Korea’s largest organised crime syndicates and the police.
Yoon Ji-Woo (played by Han So-Hee) is part of an organised crime syndicate but after her father mysteriously passes away suddenly, decides to take revenge on those responsible and begins to work undercover as a police officer.
With help from the drug gang’s boss, Choi Moo-Jin (Park Hee-Soon), she will work as a mole in the police ranks to uncover the true reason being her father’s death.
However, she is assigned to the drug investigation unit and is partnered by Detective Jeon Pil-Do (Ahn Bo-Hyun), a stickler to the rules who is immediately suspicious of Ji-Woo’s intentions.
“Following her father’s murder, a revenge-driven woman puts her trust in a powerful crime boss – and enters the police force under his direction.” – Synopsis, via Netflix.
