Thiago has shared a potentially reassuring post on Instagram, amid reports by the Liverpool Echo that the midfielder missed training as he continues his rehabilitation from injury.

Reds players not on international duty this month regrouped as Jurgen Klopp put his squad through their paces on Tuesday. The Anfield natives return to Premier League action away to Watford on Saturday, looking to regain the top-spot from Chelsea.

Thomas Tuchel’s Blues moved above Liverpool after the Merseyside outfit held Manchester City to a 2-2 draw last time out. Thiago missed the stalemate due to a calf injury he picked up in their win over Crystal Palace last month.

Klopp expected Thiago’s issue would keep his £25m signing out of action until after the international break. The German said, via the Liverpool Echo last month: “It’s a muscle in the calf. After the international break probably, I don’t think it would be anything earlier.”

But Thiago missed Liverpool’s training session on Tuesday, to raise question marks over his availability for Saturday’s clash with Watford. The 30-year-old has only started two of the Reds’ seven Premier League fixtures so far this season, while making two cameo outings.

However, Thiago has seemingly moved to reassure supporters, as the Spaniard has shared a potentially reassuring post on social media. The 46-cap international posted a photo on his Instagram story of himself working out alone.

Thiago post reassuring amid Liverpool midfielder’s path back from injury

Thiago’s post is somewhat reassuring given his injury and missing Liverpool’s group training sessions on Tuesday. He appears to still be working his way back to fitness away from the first-team group, but on course to feature again potentially sooner rather than later.

Klopp will be loath to be without the £200k-a-week maestro for long, having rarely utilised him so far this season. Thiago was also impressive in his only starts of the top-flight season, with a wonderful range to his passes against Leeds, even if not operating at full fitness.

He moved the ball around nicely against Crystal Palace, as well, before leaving the action early. Thiago even tested Vicente Guaita in search of a maiden goal after his first assist of the season against Leeds. A platform he will look to build on once back available for Klopp.
