Newcastle United continue to be linked with new faces, including managers – and Brighton and Hove Albion’s Graham Potter is a name in the frame.

The Sun reported over the weekend that Potter is a man contender to replace Steve Bruce as Newcastle boss.

PIF’s takeover means Bruce is likely to lose his job, possibly even before this weekend’s game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Potter on Newcastle’s list

It’s no great surprise that Potter is attracting interest from other clubs having excelled at Brighton.

Potter started his career in the lower reaches of Swedish football with Ostersunds, but ended up taking them into the Europa League.

Potter’s real career is something like a Football Manager save.

He ended up at Swansea City and now Brighton, playing an attractive brand of football full of creativity and movement.

Potter’s style of play is a far cry from Bruce’s approach, and the 46-year-old could excite Newcastle fans in this new era.

Newcastle fans react

Newcastle supporters have been taking to Twitter to react to the Potter rumours, with many seemingly interested in him.

Some believe that Potter is a ‘class manager’ and should 100% be the top choice for Newcastle’s new owners.

Others think that Potter will go far if given backing at Newcastle, and even want him to bring Tariq Lamptey and Yves Bissouma to Tyneside.
