Caoimhin Kelleher is set to make his third Premier League appearance for Liverpool on Saturday.
That is according to James Pearce of The Athletic, who claimed that the Reds boss would be starting Kelleher in the upcoming trip to Watford.
Alisson is on international duty with Brazil and won’t be back in the United Kingdom in time to face the Hornets.
And as a result, the Liverpool academy prospect is set to deputise for the South American.
The 22-year-old only has two Premier League appearances under his belt, having also made his Champions League debut.
But he’s a very exciting young goalkeeper and here’s how some Liverpool fans reacted to the development:
New manager
With or without Alisson, you would think – and hope – that Klopp’s side have too much for the Londoners.
Then again, this is Claudio Ranieri’s first game in charge of Watford and how often do we see the new-manager effect come into play?
Nobody’s saying that Liverpool are in major danger of losing but, by the same token, the home players will be that bit more motivated to impress their new Italian coach.
This could potentially be a busy day for the young Irish goalkeeper but, having said that, he is a confident lad and one who already has a couple of fine performances under his belt.
